Lavender is one of the oldest scents used by both men and women to scent their bodies and clothing. The Romans, we believe, first used lavender for bathing and gave it the Latin root name (either lavare-to wash or livendula-lived or bluish). It has been highly value for it's many qualities for over 2,500 years. It is no wonder this soothing, relaxing and, yes, even healing scent has lost none of its charm to this day. In fact, our fascination has only heightened as modern science discovers the amazing whys and hows of lavender's many attributes.
